Argo Scalable

Basics

The ARGO SCALABLE storage infrastructure offers almost unconstrained storage system capacity.

The ARGO SCALABLE distributed storage technology uses Ethernet interconnect technology with extremely low overhead.

ARGO SCALABLE includes its own version of the operating system, application service sets and a file system that provides reliable and long-term data storage.

Thin provisioning, tiered cache technologies offer efficient use of storage capacity and flexible support for different workloads.

Solution Concept

  • Erasure Coding with 2/3 parity blocks. Optional redundancy for critical data may be increased up to 3 copies of data blocks
  • Fault tolerance: 2 disks per disk unit, up to 2/3 disks per DSS disk unit (depending on configuration)
  • Distributed architecture: no bottlenecks
  • Highly parallelized operations and automatic load balancing between disk units
  • Managed performance up to 8 million IOPS, depending on configuration
  • Processing of units, files, and object data in a single unified system
  • Controllers and storage nodes are standard x86 servers with verified configurations, no vendorlock
